LG Dolby Vision is a promotional video, in Ultra-HD, for Digital Vision HDR and LG 4K TVs. Dolby Vision HDR supports 12-bit color depth, as opposed to the 10-bit color depth supported by HDR10. It also features higher brightness. HDR10 currently maxes out at 1,000 nits, while Dolby Vision can handle 4,000 nits.

We asked the students to try to build the workload for iOS as a stretch goal. They successfully built an iOS version, but this was at the end of the semester and there was little time for testing. If you want to experiment with iOS yourself, look at the build instructions for Android and iOS that we include with the source. Note that you will need Xcode to build and deploy the demo on iOS.

I also noticed #78856 mentioned about large file size causing the delay, but I experience the loss of detail in fast draw starting from a new empty file. From the #78856 video that some description is written on the screen, which in my case, the same writing speed can't produce the same accuracy. A lot of detail is lost in the hand writing in my mac.

The other game, Bliss Island, is a veteran of downloadable PC and boxed PSP releases, and is an assortment of mini-games centring around a Zwooph called Hoshi, who does lots of things derived from blowing, if memory serves [Brain Challenge, presumably, will be the judge of that - Ed]. See how it looks in our Bliss Island screenshot gallery.

So, both games will be up on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow at 9am GMT, with demo versions to help persuade you, and then 12 unlockable Achievements for 200 gamerpoints since that's all you live for these days. Look out for our double-header review just as soon as the games are out.

2009 will be the first year of a multi-year push to upgrade HDTV to 3D (stereoscopic) television. Panasonic, Sony and other major HDTV makers will demo 3D televisions with a live satellite broadcast of the BCS National Championship game at the International CES next week and at least one HDTV manufacturer will announce plans for production in 2009 of the first Full HD 3D compatible displays. Expect other major players to commit to early 2010 delivery. HD Guru predicts these 3D HDTVs will be supported by at least two movie studios in 2009, with the first products shipping date to coincide with the introduction of 3D Blu-ray players and discs.

Rumors persist Sony will introduce a 3D upgrade to its PS3 Playstation, turning it into PS3D. 3D gaming will be part of a long-term three part 3D strategy by the major HDTV makers that will include console video games, Blu-ray HD movies and (eventually) regular live HD 3D sports broadcasts.

The long awaited change over from HDMI cables to wireless HD video and audio will finally arrive in 2009, (a year after my 2008 prediction) allowing consumers to hang a flat panel on the wall connected only to an AC power cable. Wireless will be built-in step up feature for top of the line HDTVs. Wireless upgrade kits will be available as well. The net result, reduced consumer demand for long (relatively) expensive HDMI cables and easier TV installations.

The major TV makers will add many new models with specialized Internet connectivity to provide movie-streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon. Expect new companies to pop up and announce new movie streaming or download services in the first quarter of 2009, all offered as an alternative to DVDs and Blu-ray discs.

The introduction of Front Row in Microsoft Teams Rooms (TMR) is bringing new life to the 21:9 screen format. This layout features the video gallery displayed horizontally below the main content, allowing for a more natural eye level experience for attendees. While it can work with 16:9 monitors, 21:9 gives users the full Front Row experience.

1:06 p.m.: Chandra moves to seeking answers, where Assistant can seek out the best answer to questions not directly available through Google, such as Wikipedia. Although this is a demo, the Assistant is very responsive.

1:03 p.m.: Rishi Chandra appears to kick off a Home demo. Every time a user makes a request, the LED lights blink and Home completes the request. For music, it works with YouTube Music, Spotify and Pandora, among others.

12:50 p.m.: Google Play movies, photos, YouTube and Street View will all work in Daydream. For YouTube, the entire library will be available. Google is working with original creators to get more 360 and VR-ready videos available.

12:35 p.m.: More on Pixel, which will obviously support the Duo video calling service, and up to 7 hours of battery life with 15 minutes of charging. Users get system and security updates and soon as they're available. All updates download and install in the background. Impressive. "Gone are the days of staring at the progress bar while waiting for updates to install," says Google's Sabrina Ellis.

12:32 p.m.: Pixel will also include Google Photos built in, where users can store and organize photos. "We think people are going to use this camera a lot," says Rakowski. Everyone with a Pixel gets free unlimited storage for photos and video. They close out by stating users will never see the "storage full" message iPhone users are likely familiar with. Google is clearly going after Apple with this phone. 2ff7e9595c
